A Promise Village History
When Dr. Tim Coldiron and his colleagues saw "at risk" children, adolescents
and families struggle with needs that extended beyond the scope of their
Troy-based outpatient counseling facility, they felt helpless.
They saw children with emotional and behavioral problems, some from
abusive or neglectful homes, children who needed intensive treatment.
They saw parents struggle to maintain their child in a healthy environment,
without proper community treatment options.
Out of despair, a vision was born: Promise Village: Home for Children,
a residential treatment center with a strong family treatment component.
Dr. Tim and his colleagues spent hundreds of hours defining the Promise
Village mission and praying for its future children, families, donors
and neighbors.
A miracle came in the form of a 70-acre ranch with a 6,400 square foot home
12-stall horse barn, a 10-acre stocked pond, heated workshop and 10 acres of
woods with rolling acreage. What a blessing!
